Good Morning All,
Had my long shifts at work Mon and Tues so today I'm off and have a full day ahead of me. Had to stop here first for my "fix".
Yesterday was a hazardous day in our area with ice. There were semi's overturned, cars in ditches, etc. One of the parts of winter I do not like. I've only lost 35# but I can feel the cold much easier than yrs past. I went to bed wearing a sweat shirt over my pj's and my down comforter up to my chin. But...I'm still much happier with the first 35# off. I'm looking forward to not feeling so hot in the summer. Who knows, once I lose all the pounds I may have to move to warmer climate.
More stresses at work...but I'm off today so no thoughts of work!
I better get started at my long list for today.

Good Morning Everybody,
      It's a cool but sunny day here but, rain is  in our forecast for the next 3 days... oh joy.
      We spent yesterday doing yardwork , we hope to finish up on Sunday. I'd made a pot of beef barley soup on Monday and it only gets better with the reheating, so that's what we did for Veterans day - John is a municipal employee so he had it off. ( He was Air Force 8 1/2 yrs).
      Today I'm catching up laundry an puttering around the house. Nothing much of any news going on here.... same ol' ,same ol'....

Good Morning Candy and fellow OFFers:

Sorry about all the yucky weather you are experiencing.  It has been gorgeous here.  Cool and sunny with a slight breeze.  However, this week we have had some rain.  Last night it rained all night.  I was up late and although I love a good storm for some reason I was unable to sleep.  I was cleaning bathrooms and changing sheets at 3:00am.  This insomia is plaving havoc with my sleep patterns and food plan.  I find myself grazing out of boredome.  What do you do at 3:00am without waking up everyone else?

I have been running the roads lately with doctor appointments and jury duty so I am staying home today.  My house is screaming to be de-cluttered.

I am such a ditz sometimes, I rushed to the Library after work to get a computer just to find it was closed for Veterans Day. It made me feel so good to hear Lloyd say he felt special on Veterans day. HE SHOULD. So often our Vets have not gotten the recognition and appreciation that they deserve. Thank-You for keeping us free!!  Our HyVee serves a free breakfast to Vets. Chuck went yesterday morning and the line was so long he had to go. I hear Golden Corral is having a dinner next week.
I am So in the holiday mood this year. I have always loved Christmas but usually I get in the mood too late.. Maybe it because I am trying to do it on a shoestring this year and so I have to be inventive. Liz is a big Scooters( like Starbucks) fan and her hubby has an expresso machine and makes the best coffee ever. They want to do their kitchen in a coffee shop motif. I am making her an apron with coffee bean ( material) trim amd coffee cup  applicas, dang I can't spell that word. I am also filling clear glass ornaments with sand, shells and stones from my lighthouse trip. They came out so cute. My 7 yr old grandson is a map fanatic so I am making him a map pillow. I have 4 scrap books to do, and 3 differant projects for the American Legion Auxilliary. Wish I didn't have to work.
   MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME...
For the Vets hospital I am making walker bags. Someone donated  an entire bolt of ticking to make them. I need good sized buttons for each bag. Velcro isnt strong enough. The buttons have to be big enough for arthritic fingers but not huge. If you have any pairs of buttons laying around I could sure use them. I was pricing them at the fabric store the other day and they are about $2-$3 a pair..ouch !! I will gladlly give you my address, or it is on the list.. Have a great Tuesday.

Hi, I think I probably have a bunch of buttons for you.
I've saved buttons for years, and also have the ones my Mom saved......do you think "nickel" size would be just about right????? or larger??   Let me know and I'll get them right out to you.

THANK-YOU THANK-YOU.. I think they need to be more like quarter sized for stiff fingers..

After I sent that I thought quarter size would be better......I'll start sorting.....they may be all different colors, but so much more colorful, right????

I'm just glad that someone can use them......I probably never will!

Hey Jean, the buttons are in the mail.......I found 36, I think that's what I counted.....my kitty was trying to play with them while I was counting.....

So glad to help....especially when it comes to our veterans.  My late husband was a veteran of WW2
and proud of his service.
